The Occipital Lobe is located at the back of the head. The Occipital Lobe’s function is vision, so the ability to recognize colors and words is related to this lobe. Lesions to this part may cause visual hallucinations and illusions, and in extreme occasions alexia and agraphia (difficulties with reading and writing), color agnosia and movement agnosia.
